Excessive sweating, medically referred to as hyperhidrosis, can represent a considerable burden for those affected. A Botox® sweating (hyperhidrosis) treatment offers a very effective and long-lasting solution to reduce sweat production in the affected areas, typically the armpits, palms or soles of the feet.
Botulinum toxin blocks the nerve signals that activate the sweat glands. The injections are made superficially into the skin of the zones to be treated. The effect sets in after a few days and can significantly reduce sweat production for three to six months, in some cases longer.
